“Sunday Photos”

Some photos of my little trio. I haven't taken any photos since we came home from Mexico!

I don't know about the other families out there, but Sunday seems to often be a day of torture for our kids. They are so bored all day long and I feel like I spend the day trying not to lose my mind! It doesn't matter if we eat good food and play some games together. As soon as they are no longer the center of our attention, or eating, or on a screen, they are grumpy and incapable of entertaining themselves. It's painful. Staying up late the night before isn't doing them any favors either!

Some quick Sunday photos with my best girls.

It's so infrequent that I do something creative just for the hey of it. I need more of that in my life. This past Sunday, I took some portraits of my daughters. It's no easy exercise and I really try hard not to be monster mom when I'm taking pics of my kids. Totally not my strength to be cool and fun. But, I got them making funny faces and all sorts of expressions and in between those, I captured some sweet pictures of them. Obviously the baby was the hardest to take pictures of. She found a button and insisted on putting it in her mouth. Oh man...

The days are long but the years are short.

I don't sew nearly as much these days as I used to and therefore I try to be picky about what I make. This summer, I made myself a jumpsuit and I love how it turned out! It's the Yari Jumpsuit pattern by True Bias. I used a linen blend from JoAnn's. This jumpsuit is so incredibly comfortable and I love the way it fits my body. I lengthened the waist and leg by 1/2", but with my next one, I'm going to add a little more length to the leg. I didn't do the D-ring ties, instead I made the wrap around belt. I want to make a second one out of a fabric that's a little more basic - black or denim. If I were to make this again, I would buy the printed pattern. It was so much work to print the PDF version and cut it out and then do my little alterations. Overall, so super happy with how this turned out!

Not sure if it's my lens, me the photographer, or my wiggly children, but most of the photos I snapped of them this morning turned out fuzzy. Whoops! So here's two of my cute children. I love these three so much!
